Magnus Carlsen

His parent Sigrun and Henrik Albert who are engineers by profession have moved in different places over the years but later settled in Haslum. He has three sisters. At a tender age he could solve puzzles and assembled Lego sets many of which had instructions intended for children of a greater age than him. His father also introduced him to chess in early age of five years. His skills were acquired from reading ‘find the plan’ by Bent Larsen and also playing the games.  He took time practicing and replaying moves shown by his father. After school he went to Europe for the international chess champions for under fourteen. His first chest tournament was at the age of eight years and later at the Norwegian high school for athletes he was coached by Grandmaster Simen Agdestein. He is a cool guy who likes junky food attention from the media. His stubbornness nature led him to forgo university. When not playing he spends his time playing football or at the gym. At the age of thirteen he became a grandmaster after playing a hundred and forty eight days, this made him the second youngest grandmaster. Former champion Garry Kasparov became his personal trainer from the year 2009.  Magnus Carlsen became a universal gamer known for his attack styles from his teenage life.

His success began early, from the time he became a grandmaster he continued succeeding in his games and challenges. His victories started in primary school playing against his school mates. On September 2000 he took the championship for Norwegian junior teams which was against country’s top junior players.  After the junior championship he went for elementary school in participation in the international chess tournaments in the year 2003.he first won his first Gausdal masters in that same year He acquired his grandmaster norm after a victory in Wijk aan Zee. This victory was in the C group at the Corus chess tournament. The media Washington Post note him after his win and of the strategy used. Moscow is where he got his second grand master norm in 2004, where he was able to defeat Anatoly Karpov. In the same year Garry Kasparov who was rated as top player won the second after drawing the first against Magnus Carlsen making only 32 moves. In April 2006 he obtained his third norm which made him a grandmaster after winning in Dubai. In 2006 he struggled to win in Norwegian championship with Agdestein. In the play-offs he took the title but was not crowned the youngest Norwegian champion.  2007 Wimbledon of chess which is prestigious linare chess tournament he came in second position. The same year he won a grandmaster in the international festival Biel. After the 18 tournament he was became the youngest person to win that stage. Open Arctic chess challenge which resulted in a fourth place. In this game there where six rounds, and his opponents included his classmate and father Henrik. In 2008 he had great improvements compared with the previous year. Out of 13 rounds his score was 8 in the corus tournament.  The najing tournament of 2009, he attained 2.5 points behind the highest rated player Topalov at the time. In Moscow November 2009 he went on to win the worlds blitz championship. The same year in London he defeated world champion Vladimir Kramnik. In the year 2010 he won two championships from different tournaments. This included the amber 2010 and the Bazna Kings tournaments. In December 8th to 15th field world championship held in London Vladimir Kramnik former champion lost to Carlsen. The FIDE rated him with 2813 a figure attained by Kasparov. In 2011 he attained a rating of 2826, at an age of20 years. One of the most intreasting games Carlson played was on this year which was against Israel best player Boris. He also won against hikaru Nakamura in the London chess classic. The year 2012 he had 9 marches, one of them he played with Viswanatha Anand in the Bilbao Masters which he won. The year ended with a rating of 2861. Still being the world champion 2013 was tough with major tournaments. In April he had two draws and a win. He won the Anand-Carlsen championship stet at Chennai. At the age of 23 he started the year 2014 with draws but still he maintained his title. His first game as the world champion was the Zurich chess challenge whereas he won ranking at 2883
Magnus-CarlsenThe game has made him famous and has traveled a lot in many countries. The more he plays the game better he becomes and the more championships he attained. Other than chess he has engaged himself in different things including acting. He was to be featured in star trek into darkness but he declined, he was seen in 60 minutes. This man is the ambassador for Nordic Semiconductor Company which specializes in ultra low power wireless and connectivity devices. From 2012 with his manager Espen Agdestein brother to simen they actively worked on full time professional chess. In the year 2012 Magnus  Carlsen earned approximately $1 million, which mainly came from the sponsors. He performs stunts on contract for the sponsors, where he seems to enjoy the spot light.  He started his own company thou was majority-owned. It is based in Oslo, Norway. Their first product service is an I phone operating system application that allows users to play chess provided with different stages that are age difference. It has 19 different levels from the age of 5. Almost all the games are his own recorded games from when he was 10 years of age.   He ranked world’s best player since 2010 by FIBE. He is found on the social media such as facebook and tweeter where he updates hi status regularly.  Magnus Carlsen next game will be on November 2014 where he will be defending his title. His opponent will be the winner of the candidates’ tournament.
